The Magic of the Midday Reset
Jul 16, 2025
By noon, the day can already feel lost. The dishwasher didn’t get run yet. The kid refused pants. You’ve had snack negotiations that rival UN peace talks—and somehow it’s only 11:42am. But here’s the thing: just because the morning spiraled doesn’t mean the whole day has to.
Sometimes the smallest shift can turn everything. I’ve learned that if I pause—literally two minutes—to reset something physical, it often resets me. Clear one surface. Change the playlist. Step outside and drink water in silence (we know I don't do this...LOL but maybe you can!)
I call it a “midday cue”—a system that gently says, we’re not stuck here. You don’t need a deep breath and a mindset shift (although those are great). You just need something tiny and tangible. Maybe even a 1 song dance party.
Today, try one reset. Wipe the mirror. Throw clean towels in the dryer. Spray something that smells like eucalyptus and control. Not because it’s productive, but because it reminds you: you’re still in charge. You can restart from wherever you are—even if where you are smells like sunscreen and leftover fish sticks.
